Goa amends its Goa Startup Policy 2021 and Goa IT Policy 2018 to reinstate the seed capital scheme. The amendment also provides for creating a “Startup IT Promotion Cell” (SITPC) to be the nodal agency to register, recognise, and certify the startups.

Gujarat announces guidelines for its Information Technology and Information Technology Enabled Services (IT & ITeS) Policy 2022-27. The guidelines aims to the govern implementation of the policy through a paperless, faceless, and cashless system of clearances.

Tamil Nadu launches its Tamil Nadu R&D Policy 2022. The policy proposes the Tamil Nadu Startup and Innovation Mission (TANSIM) to establish regional start-up hubs in smaller towns and cities. Under the new policy, i-Tamil Nadu Technology Hub (iTNT) will build a ‘Deep-tech Innovation Network’ and ‘MSME Innovation Research Programme’. The policy also intends to promote R&D in private sector by targeting new indigenous performing firms in both manufacturing and service sectors.

Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh introduces its Renewable Purchase Obligation (RPO), its Compliance and REC framework Implementation Regulations 2022, notified by the Joint Electricity and Regulatory Commission (JERC). These regulations will apply to all distribution licensees, captive consumers, and open access consumers with a contracted demand using energy sources other than renewable energy sources exceeding 1 MW.

Center – State Relations
Environment Ministry issues draft notification for tightening particulate matter (PM) norms for industrial boilers and providing new standards for their different sizes. The standard for boilers of steam generation capacity of two tonnes per hour has been reduced from 1200 mg/Nm3 to 500 mg/Nm3 and those with a capacity of two tonnes per hour to less than 10 tonnes per hour from 800 mg/Nm3 to 150 mg/Nm3.
