Industrial Policy & Business Regulations
Goa cabinet approves the Goa State Logistics and Warehouse Policy, 2023, which aims to boost logistics-led investments in the state. The policy seeks to promote environment-friendly commercial carriers through decarbonisation in transportation. Under the policy, the state government will provide up to 15% interest and capital subsidies on the annual interest payable by companies on loans taken for the construction of projects.

Goa approves the Mhaji Bus (My bus) scheme, thereby allowing the state-run run Kadamba Transport Corporation Limited (KTCL) to hire private buses, bolster the existing fleet, and improve interregional bus connectivity in the state.

Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC) announces the generic tariff for net-meter consumers in Maharashtra for the year 2023-24. The commission has set the tariff at $0.0369 per unit, allowing solar rooftop prosumers using net meters to sell their surplus solar energy to local discoms at this rate. The newly established tariff closely aligns with the earlier rate of $0.0369-0.0375 per unit determined under the PM-KUSUM scheme.

Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC) approves a tariff of INR 3.10 (~$0.037)/kWh for the procurement of 117.5 MW of solar power on a long-term basis. The power procured from these projects will be eligible for fulfilling the solar renewable purchase obligation (RPO) targets of the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (MSEDCL).

Uttar Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (UPERC) keeps the power tariff for 2023-24 unchanged. The last revision in power tariff was done in 2018-19, making this the fifth year in a row that the power tariff in UP has not been increased.
