Andhra Pradesh tops list of states in attracting industrial investments in 2022, garnering $5.05 billion, according to a report by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).
Maharashtra proposes to establish a state-level institute on the lines of NITI Aayog for faster and more inclusive economic growth. The institute will focus on agriculture and allied services, health and nutrition, education, urbanisation, finance, real estate and land administration, infrastructure development, skilling and innovation, tourism and sports, and IT and communication.

The policy aims to provide financial and technical support with a conducive regulatory environment to increase the contribution of MSMEs to the State’s Gross Domestic Product (SGDP) as well as exports.

Punjab constitutes a task force to discuss and create enabling mechanisms for off-take of Fermented Organic Manure (FOM) generated from Compressed Biogas (CBG) projects based on agro-residue in the State.

Delhi rolls out a new property tax amnesty scheme for unauthorized colonies and unauthorized regularized colonies. The scheme announces a waiver on outstanding property tax dues prior to the financial year 2021-22 upon the payment of the principal amount of property tax dues for the financial years 2021-22 and 2022-23.
Sikkim increases minimum wage for unskilled workers by 67 percent to $6.26. Previously, the daily wage for unskilled labourers was $3.76.

Bihar launches ‘Rural Solar Light Scheme’ to provide installation of solar lights in all wards of every panchayat in the state.
Delhi launches an open database facility for EV charging and battery swapping stations on its ‘Switch Delhi’ portal to bring all the electric vehicle players on a single platform. The database will enable open access to more than 2,500 charging points in Delhi to all EV players who can further develop platforms to provide seamless information about charging and battery-swapping stations to all EV users in Delhi.
West Bengal issues its ‘Open Access Regulations 2022’. Green consumers who have contracted demand or sanctioned load of 100 kW will be eligible to procure green energy through open access in the state. There will be no load limitation for captive consumers procuring power under green energy open access.
Ministry of Health and Family Welfare launches its “National List of Essential Medicines (NLEM) 2022.” 384 drugs have been included in this list with addition of 34 new drugs, while 26 from the previous list have been dropped. The medicines have been categorized into 27 therapeutic categories.
Haryana announces a payment of $31.33 per month to people suffering from thalassemia. The necessary medical tests for their health check-up will also be free-of-cost so that the cost burden of treatment is not borne by the family members.
Haryana announces a number of welfare measures for workers and their families. These include free medical checkups and diagnostic tests, the opening of 200 ‘Shram Yogi’ clinics for cashless healthcare, and the provision of 100 ambulances with advanced life support systems.
Tamil Nadu launches breakfast scheme for government school students from class 1 to 5. The key objectives of the scheme is to provide free of cost meal to children ensuring enhancement of nutrients besides easing the burden of working women.
Kerala records highest out-of-pocket-expenditure (OOPE) on health in the country even though in 2018-19, the State spent 7.4% of the General Government Expenditure (GGE) on health, higher than many other states. Kerala’s per capita total health expenditure was the highest in the country (2018-19) at $124.
Jharkhand becomes the third state after Bihar and Odisha in eastern India to have Food Security Atlas for its rural areas. The study visits the issue of food security in rural Jharkhand with the primary focus of identifying the extremely food insecure districts.
