Assam to receive $945 million in crude oil royalty from the center

The center agreed to pay $945 million to the Assam government as crude oil royalty as part of an out-of-court settlement after an eight year legal battle. Oil India and the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation produce 4.3 million metric tons of crude oil in Assam annually
