Assam government has sought assistance from the Indo-German Energy Programme (IGEN) to revamp the power sector of the state. IGEN, an initiative of the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, executes energy security programmes in developing countries. Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal sought IGEN’s help to establish a stable power supply and reduce transmission losses.
