Jharkhand announced that its power distribution company, Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam Ltd, cleared the approximately $206 million it owes to power producers the Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) and Coal India. The repayment is part of the roadmap laid out in Jharkhand’s Ujjwal Discom Assurance Yojna (UDAY) agreement with the center.
