Mizoram becomes the third northeastern state to become energy surplus

The first unit of a 60 MW hydroelectric power plant in Mizoram began generating electricity, making Mizoram the third power-surplus state in northeast India after Sikkim and Tripura. The second half of the project is expected to begin generation in late October or early November.
