Punjab taps into electricity duty and infrastructure development fund to pay for power subsidies

With the Punjab government unable to generate enough funds to support the $1.8 billion power subsidies currently offered to various categories of consumers, the government has begun using the electricity duty and the infrastructural development fund collected by the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited to make adjustments against subsidies.
