Goa passes the Goa Panchayat Raj (Amendment) Bill, 2026. The amendment allows local Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) representatives and ‘Zilla Panchayat’ (local government) members to attend and deliberate in ‘Gram Sabhas’ (local assemblies) within their constituencies and provides legal protection against the demolition of old buildings reflected in original land records.
